TurquoiseI'd often walked in there as a child: her tall, dark closet. All I remember of it now would be the soft black dress, the tiny turquoise tinted crystal drops, and the feel of them both before they returned home.

When she did find me in there, she'd screech and wail before he walked in, dad - midway through the news at nine - and whacked me, his little boy, for something that I wasn't was.
G MinorFlickering candlelight encased in pretty lanterns. They throw dancing shadows across his face. The wine – luxurious warmth – we ordered nothing else. A Bagatelle played in the background – barely audible – punctuating conversation and laughter.

Dark, intense eyes followed my every move. A slow caressing gaze… following… undressing…

I could feel my cheeks burn. My hands, they felt cold. Fever.

Wine. Cigarettes. Coffee. And cologne.

The feel of skin.

The pounding in my ears.

Breath. Or the lack of it.

A moment.

The racing stops.

Noises. Horns. Cars. A drunkard. And police sirens.

A flash of stillness
